
If traveling throughout Australia with
firearms or coming to Australia from overseas it is strongly
recommended that permits are obtained from Australian Customs Service, Australian
Defense Dept
and the Police Dept in each state in which you intend traveling.

Firearm Classifications:
A class is 22 rimfire and airgun and shotgun (not selfloading or pump action shotguns).
B class is muzzleloading (not handguns) and centerfire rifle.
C class is self loading rimfire (mag capacity not more than 10 rnds) and shotguns self loading or pump not more than 5 rnd capacity).
D class is rimfire self loading (mag capacity more than 10 rnd) and also centrefire self loading rifles and self loading or pump shotguns with a mag capacity of more than 5 rnds.).
H class is all handguns including air pistols.
